As the new year begins, CYBER CIC, LLC is excited to begin a new role in supporting AVIAN and NAVAIR. CYBER CIC and AVIAN have partnered since February 2017 when CYBER CIC’s Carmine Cicalese started working as cyber faculty for AVIAN.
Carmine taught two courses for AVIAN: Introduction to Cyber Warfare and Cyber for Program Teams. In the new role as a contractor, Carmine will continue teaching those courses. “Intro to Cyber Warfare jams six hours of learning into just four. The course teaches students to think as if they were their cyber adversaries. I always have fun teaching that class. The vignettes are chock-full of interesting cyber forensics,” says Carmine. Cyber for Program Teams, a course for NAVAIR personnel, is a full-day course in which students learn to integrate cyber resiliency considerations into the risk management framework and airworthiness processes. “It is more cerebral and process-oriented,” commented Carmine.
“AVIAN is a great company, but I thought it was going to be time for me to move on. Instead, AVIAN wanted to hire me through CYBER CIC as an independent contractor. I’m excited to continue the partnership,” said Cicalese. “AVIAN and CEO Kevin Switick taught me a lot about small business processes. I will miss the birthday cupcake in a jar that AVIAN sends to its employees.”
Contractors might not receive such perks… 😉
